Preschool speech and language services will be improved in the
Kenora-Rainy River Districts thanks to Provincial funding.
The Government is spending $41,000 on the North Words
program and $13,000 on infant hearing services.
Northwestern Health Unit Spokesperson Debbie Coussineau says the
money will help trim wait times.
The wait time for service has increased to 33 weeks, with the longest
times in Sioux Lookout and Kenora.
143 pre-school children are still looking for support.
The money will also be spent on enhancing early literacy and oral
language programs.
