The Assembly of First Nations is planning to push the federal government for a new funding strategy for First Nations schools.
The AFN says First Nations schools continue to take a hit, recieving 40% less funding then others.
The group says the Pelican Falls School is a prime example.
The boarding school is home to nearly 200 students from fly-in communities.
However, after salaries paid out to staff , the school is left with $2 a day to feed students.
The AFN will meet in October to discuss a strategy for a new funding formula.
