Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day says Resolute Forest Products is a shinning example of collaboration between First Nations and industry.
Seven area First Nations are celebrating a Memorandum of Understanding they now have with the forest company, underscoring what Day calls a coming of age in partnership.
The deal represents an overall investment of $100-million in the region.
The agreement will provide training and jobs for local aboriginals.
Resolute President Richard Garneau says it’s a huge win for the company to be able to provide training and careers to young people, so they can live and work in their local communities.
