An Edmonton pilot has survived a plane crash in the dense bush in northwestern Ontario.
Provincial Police say a Cessna 150L went down Monday afternoon just before 3:30 between Marathon and Manitouwadge.
The pilot managed to use his cell phone to give his location to the OPP.
CFB Trenton responded with a Hercules aircraft, a helicopter and a pair of search and rescue technicians and were able to rescue the pilot and transfer him to hospital.
The pilot has been identified as Chad Mulchand and police say he sustained only minor injuries.
He says the plane lost power after running low on fuel and had to make an emergency landing in a wooded area.
