Former Borderland Thunder head coach Dave Allison is heading to Iowa.
Allison has landed a job as the head coach of the new Des Moines franchise in the American Hockey League for this season.
He said the Des Moines squad will be an amalgamation of sorts of the Hamilton Bulldogs and Houston.

Allison noted Des Moines has a brand new 17,000 seat arena which will be home to the franchise next season.
There has been no word on what is happening with Allison’s former team the Borderland Thunder.
Allison said earlier this year the team had been sold, one of the reasons he was leaving to allow the new owners to start fresh.
