There is now some alternative reading material at Dryden area schools.
Books are now in place at elementary schools as well as Dryden High School providing information on gay-lesbian and trans-gender topics.
The DHS Gay Straight Alliance says the books promote equality.
The group was formed to make the community a more inclusive space for gay and gender diverse students.
The Alliance says they want to target the younger generation to help them feel more comfortable about open topics.
