Twitter and Facebook have suddenly become a key crime fighting tool for police.
Dryden Police Chief Rob Davis says the recent terrorist attack in Ottawa was a great example of how social media can help police solve crimes.
Davis says because of social media thousands of people become witnesses within seconds.
He adds it allows police to get information out to a large group of people right away.
Davis notes people feel more comfortable and anonymous using social media.
