An Indiana man has been fined $2,500 for not killing a wolf.
In a bizarre story, Casey Seitzinger was caught for unlawfully transporting a wolf out of northwestern Ontario and into the United States back in February 2017.
Court heard that Seitzinger was in Atikokan on a guided hunt and was unsuccessful.
A local trapper gave him a wolf and Seitzinger placed his seal on it and returned home with the animal.
An investigation was conducted after the man was initially stopped during a fishing trip at the same time and he was caught following a joint probe by Ontario and Indiana conservation officers.
He has been banned from hunting for one year.
