A couple of American fishing guides have been fined $3,300 for illegal fishing activity in Ontario waters.
The guides were from the Flag Island resort in Minnesota and were stopped this past summer by MNR conservation officers with too many walleye in their possession.
The men also provided the conservation officers with false information about how many fish had been used for their shore lunch.
They also indicated they did not have any walleye stored back at their base camp, which was not the case.
They have been fined for making a false or misleading statement to a conservation officer and having too many fish in their possession.
