Another twist in the NorWOSSA Sanctions against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints.
Grand Council treaty 3 Grand Chief Warren White has written a letter to the Keewatin Patricia District School Board and NorWOSSA questioning the sanctions.
Last month, the Saints junior boys basketball team was banned from competing for the NorWOSSA championships due to a recruiting violation.
The letter suggests a miscommunication between a player and the TA Coach regarding scholarship opportunities that became exaggerated.
White also notes the student was struggling in classes at Beaver Brae and the father was seeking to transfer the student.
NorWOSSA president Mike Lalonde has offered no comment because he has not read the letter yet.
Calls to Director of Education Sean Monteith and Grand Chief White went unanswered.
