Talks Between CN and Unifor Come To A Halt

Contract talks between CN Rail and Unifor have broken off.

The two sides have been talking for several months and held continuous discussions in Montreal since Monday on agreements covering some 1,200 employees.

Unifor president Jerry Dias says some progress was made, but there were several stumbling blocks over non-economic issues that prevented talks from proceeding.

The two sides have agreed to resume talks in January.
