A fishing trip to Northwestern Ontario is going to cost an Illinois man a little more than he bargained for.
Andrew Coates has been fined $2,000 for catching too many walleye.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says Coates was fishing in Little Pine Lake just off Highway 71 this past July.
Conservation officers found the legal number of walleye in his possession, but a further investigation found that he had more fish frozen at his camp.
He pleaded guilty to having 13-walleye over the legal limit.
