5 American sledders are lucky to be alive after being rescued from the icy waters of Rainy Lake Friday night.
Police say the men were traveling on their snowmachines, on route to Ash River, Minnesota, when they drove into some open water.
The men were submerged in the frigid water for 30 minutes.
However, rescue crews quickly arrived on the scene and managed to free them.
They were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.
Police are urging sledders to check ice conditions before heading out.
