AMO Believes Cost To Do Business Becoming More Expensive

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario has come out with a list of issues it wants the main party leaders to address this provincial election.

President Lynn Dollin says the government continues to create new legislation that makes it more and more expensive for municipalities to do business.

Dollin says they don’t want more downloading, noting they want the leaders to understand that some of the decisions they make cost us money.

She says they also want them to understand there are decisions to be made that would cost nothing and save millions.

Dollin is one of the keynote speakers at the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Conference taking place in Kenora.

She adds new regulations for everything from policing, fire services, recycling and First Nations relationships are coming down, which could potentially cost municipalities millions of dollar
