Warning Labels Coming For Prescription Drugs

Your prescription drugs may soon come with warning labels.

Health Canada intends to make stickers mandatory on all opioid medications received at your local pharmacy or doctor’s office.

The stickers will warn that opioid use can cause dependence, addiction and overdose.

The medication will also come with information about the side effects, the signs of opioid overdose, and other warnings.

Both measures will be in place this October.
