Dryden officials will discuss issues of concern with the Ministers responsible for Infrastructure and Renewal as well as Natural Resources at next week’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference in Ottawa.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says funding for water and sewer improvements, wood supply, surplus land on Van Horne Avenue, and the trophy deer will all be discussed with the two.
Hoogenboom says council also wants to talk to:
Ministry of Transportation-proposed bypass and other highway funding.
Ministry of Industry and Trade-Convention Centre and Casino proposal.
Ministry of Northern Development-land tax reform, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
Ministry of Community and Social Services-Day Care funding.
Hoogenboom says the City had hoped to speak with Energy Minister Dwight Duncan however they have been told he won’t be present.
