The Ministry of Natural Resources is expected to send about 200 Fire Rangers to British Columbia this week to help battle wild fires.
Information Officer Bob Thomas says the first contingent is leaving today.
Three, 20 member crews from the Northwest will be headed to B.C.
Thomas says they are able to spare the extra personnel because there are only 7 small blazes in the region.
The hazard is listed in the low to moderate range.
