Joy and jubilation in Ignace.
Mayor Lee Kennard says community spirits have been lifted with an announcement that AbitibiBowater plans to spend $32-million to reopen the Ignace Sawmill.
The Mill is expected to be operational in 2014 and could employe up to 200-people.
Kennard says he hopes the announcement will encourage closed down businesses to reopen and help Ignace become a thriving community.
Mayor Craig Nuttall is also pleased with the announcement, stating it will likely lead to economic spin-off’s for the City of Dryden.
