The Mayor of Dryden is fuming after learning that the City would be on the hook for the full cost of paving Highway 17 through town.
The Ministry of Transportation is planning on paving both sections of the Highway up to the City limits.
Craig Nuttall says he’s prepared to play hardball and would consider setting up a toll booth on Highway 17.
Nuttall says if the Province believes its a City Highway, he will then charge out-of-town residents from using the road.
He stresses “there’s no bloody way that citizens of Dryden should pay 100% of the project.”
