The Rotary Club of Dryden held their annual Performing Arts Evening yesterday.
The night featured six students from the area who have been recognized for their musical talent and public speaking skills.
President Sandra Boyko says they started it to get students involved in public speaking, and then they threw in the musical portion of the contest.
In the Royal Conservatory of Music portion:
Junior Trophy went to Sarah Wood.
Intermediate Trophy went to Victoria Gardner.
Senior Trophy went to Hailey Gilmour
In the Rotary’s Public Speaking Contest:
1st Place went to grade 8 student Ally Wisneski of Lillian Berg School.
2nd Place went to grade 7 student Meg Langlais of Open Roads School
3rd Place went to grade 7 student Paige Ponton of Open Roads School.
