The sister of an area murdered First Nations woman is hoping a recent meeting may bring about change.
Maggie Cywink of Whitefish River attended a hearing by the Chiefs of Ontario for the families of missing or murdered Indigenous women and girls.
Cywink called it a chance to be heard at the ground level.
She adds the gathering was a foundational change for all of them.
Cywink’s sister was murdered in 1994.
