Another Northwestern Ontario mill is deciding to take
some downtime, in an attempt to weather the storm of lower
demand for stud lumber in the US.
Kenora Forest Products Manager Rod McKay says despite
the temporary layoffs, they still plan to expand their
facilities.
McKay adds they’re waiting on a final decision from the
Province on the Whiskey Jack Forest timber rights.

The sawmills plaining operations will continue until all
rough dry stock is finished and ready for shipping.
Operations are expected to be curtailed starting
February 28th for an indefinite period of time.
