Another Mil takes downtime #2

Another Northwestern Ontario mill is deciding to take

some downtime, in an attempt to weather the storm of lower

demand for stud lumber in the US.

Kenora Forest Products Manager Rod McKay says despite

the temporary layoffs, they still plan to expand their

facilities.

McKay adds they’re waiting on a final decision from the

Province on the Whiskey Jack Forest timber rights.

The sawmills plaining operations will continue until all

rough dry stock is finished and ready for shipping.

Operations are expected to be curtailed starting

February 28th for an indefinite period of time.
