Northern Ontario MP Carol Hughes has become the fifth New Democrat to switch her position on the controversial long-gun registry.
Hughes, who helped push a bill to abolish the registry through second reading, now says she’ll vote to defeat the Bill, saying she’s “committing to improving Canada’s flawed long-gun registry.”
The bill’s fate, and that of the registry, rests on a Commons vote next week, and the numbers are extremely close.
