The President of the Liberal riding association in Kenora-Rainy River says he’s not surprised by the results of the recent provincial election.
Anthony Leek says he could see the writing on the wall by the time voting day rolled around.
Leek says it wasn’t a huge shocker, noting he felt that people were ready for some kind of change.
He adds the polls showed for a long time that the efficiency of the PC vote would come out in droves.
The Liberals finished in third place in the riding for the third election in a row and Leek says there really wasn’t any growth in their support locally.
Leek is thanking candidate Karen Kejick for her efforts and everything she was able to accomplish in a very short period of time.
Leek admits it will be good for the riding to have someone in government after being on the outside looking in for the past 20 years.
