Anti-Racism Network Promoting Residential School Book

The Dryden Area Anti Racism Network is sharing a new book with the community.

It’s titled Shi-shi-etko and focuses on a young aboriginal girl’s life before and during attendance of a residential school.

DAARN Co-Chair Patty Vann says the story gives you a look at what these kids lost before they left the schools.

Vann says it provides inspiration of moving forward and gives hope for future generations.

The book is being presented to both the Dryden Public Library as well as local Elementary Schools.
