A former CIBC executive is now the chair of the board of Hydro One.
Tom Woods was the unanimous choice in a recent vote by the board.
Energy Minister Greg Rickford says Woods has an extensive business resume, noting he sits on numerous corporate and community boards, including the Bank of America.
The Kenora-Rainy River MPP adds during the course of his 37-year career, he served as head of Canadian corporate banking, chief financial officer, chief risk officer and vice-chairman.
In a release, Woods says the board is committed to system reliability and continuous improvement for the benefit of customers, employees, shareholders and the communities it serves.
Woods had been chosen by Premier Doug Ford to be the acting chair of Hydro One last month, until a permanent chair could be selected.
