The idea of creating an Area Services Board in the Kenora District is not dead, despite Dryden rejecting the continuation of the study.
The Unincorporated Ratepayers Association believes they have the double majority required to move forward with the plan.
President Bill Blower says the association will meet with particpants in the new year and he hopes Dryden officials will have a change of heart and take part.
Kenora and Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls are the only other municipalities to reject an Area Services Board proposal.
An ASB would replace the Kenora District Services Board which bills municipalities for such things as land ambulance, ontario works and child care.
Some believe an ASB creates another level of government and red tape.
