Armed Man Arrested In Deer Lake

An armed man has been arrested in the remote northern community of Deer Lake.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police say they received a report of gun shots being fired in the community around 2 o’clock Friday morning.
22-year-old Quinton Meekis of Deer Lake was arrested and charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
