Police have two people in custody in connection with Thunder Bay’s 10th murder of the year.
They say a 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man, both from Thunder Bay, are charged with 2nd degree murder following the weekend death of 51-year-old Rene Sortolovo at his North Marks Street home.
Police say the two were picked up without a struggle in the city’s south core just before 6:00 Wednesday evening.
They say one of the accused was known to the victim and police believe robbery was the motive.
The name of the man is being released after he appears in court on Friday but the girls name will remain confidential because she is under the age of 18.
