RCMP Releases More Details On Ottawa Shooting

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson says Ottawa shooter, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, was not one of 90 high-risk individuals being investigated by the RCMP.
Paulson says the Mounties have no information linking Wednesday’s attack to one that occurred in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu on Monday.
Paulson adds Zehaf-Bibeau was connected to someone known to the RCMP, explaining that an email from him was found on the hard drive of someone charged in another investigation.
RCMP say Cpl. Nathan Cirillo never saw Zehaf-Bibeau approach the National War Memorial before he was shot at twice.
Paulson says he ran toward the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the west side, while Cirillo and fellow reservist Brandon Stevenson faced south.
He adds Zehaf-Bibeau was at an angle where Cirillo would not have been able to see him.
Zehaf-Bibeau fired twice at Cirillo and also fired once at Stevenson, but missed.
RCMP are still investigating.
