Dryden Police say they are making great progress on their on-going investigation into a sensless assault at a local fast food restaurant.
The incident was videotaped and posted on Youtube, sparking considerable anger in the community.
Police Chief Rob Davis says the person in the background of the video has been identified and notes the man isn’t from Dryden.
Davis says they are actively following up with that person.
Two other witnesses have also come forward.
The investigation has resulted in considerable social media banter with racial undertones and accusations.
Davis says a number of aboriginals and non-aboriginals have come forward to assist in the investigation.
The probe continues and charges have not yet been laid.
The victim is from Pikangikum First Nation.
