Atikokan Continues to Work on Budget

The Town of Atikokan continues to wrestle with the 2006 municipal
budget in hopes of passing along some savings to taxpayers.
Mayor Dennis Brown says Council and senior staff are taking their time
in order to obtain a 0% tax increase or a hike that’s below the
cost of inflation.
Brown notes a number of challenges still lie ahead.
Brown says the future of the Town Hall and road work are among the big
ticket projects being looked at right now.
He says the budget process should be completed by the end of this
month.
