Atikokan Hopes to Enhance Relationship With Quetic

Atikokan is fine tuning a document that will eventually be presented to the Minister of Natural Resources in a bid to improve the Town’s economy.
A public meeting was held on Wednesday surrounding Quetico Park and its impact on the Municipality.
Mayor Dennis Brown says they want to form a closer relationship with their neighbours.
Brown says Quetico Park is one of the jewels of the Ontario Park system and they want to promote it and the Town on the world stage.
A 10-point plan has been drafted and will be submitted to Council for modifications.
Brown is also hoping the Province establishes a task force to look at economic opportunities on an annual basis.
