Kenora’s Murray Affleck improved his record to 3-1 at the Northern Ontario Mixed Curling Playdowns in Atikokan.
Affleck knocked off previously undefeated Tim Phillips out of Sudbury 9-6 this afternoon.
Phillips also sits with a 3-1 record.
Also this afternoon, the Joe Scharf rink out of Thunder Bay defeated the winless Dinesen club 10-3.
Ed Premo out of Sault Ste. Marie upended the MacInnes rink 5-3.
The Championship takes place all weekend in Atikokan.
