Northern Polluters

A report released by the Sierra Legal Defense Fund finds Northwestern Ontario Mills are among the worst offenders of air pollution in the Province.
4 of the top 6 worst polluters are from the Thunder Bay area with the Fort Frances Abitibi-Consolidated facility also on the list.
Staff Scientist Elaine MacDonald says the problem lies deeper than what is on the surface.
MacDonald says while there are 1,000 reported violations Province wide, the actual number of offenses is significantly higher.
She adds the Province is turning a blind eye to polluters and has to take action.
