Atikokan mayor Dennis Brown says Ontario is the only place where they are trying to close down or phase out coal fired plants.
Brown says politicians should be looking at how they can bring in the “clean coal” process to Northwestern Ontario.

In addition to the loss of electricity, Brown said Atikokan would lose about 100 well-paying jobs, something the community would not be able to replace.
