Atikokan’s Chief of Police is off the job for unknown reasons or at least that seems to be the indication to date.
Bill Baxter has been on what is being called ‘stress leave’ since October 1st.
Deputy Police Chief Tim Fairbairn is filling in for the time being.
Mayor Dennis Brown says Baxter has been off partly for medical reasons but no other details have been released.
