Atikokan Receives Money, Others Left With Empty Po

The Atikokan Crises Centre has been included in the new provincial funding for Women’s Shelters across Ontario.
$25,000 will be used for the transitional support worker program.
Although she is happy to hear the news, Executive Director Donna Krockmo admits she is a bit puzzled by the announcement.
Women’s Shelters in Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Kenora did not benefit.
Krockmo says those facilities need funds as badly as Atikokan does.
She admits she doesn’t understand the Province’s rationale.
