The town of Atikokan is taking action and going on its own to address on-going nuisance bear issues.
The municipality is introducing a trap and relocate plan which will be ran by an experienced trapper.
Mayor Dennis Brown believes it is humane and the best option to prevent the deaths of bears.
He stresses it will also keep residents safe.
The program is scheduled to start this summer and is capped at $4,000.
