Northwestern Ontario experienced near normal late summer
weather during the month of August.
Kenora’s temperature was half a degree cooler than
last year, and sat at 17.8 degrees.
Rainfall in the city was slightly less than normal, with
only 73.4 millimetres of rain.
Environment Canada Spokesperson Jim Cook says it looks
as if the weather trend will continue into September and
October.

Parts of the region saw a decrease in rainfall, while
others were soaked.
Red Lake and Pickle Lake saw over 100 millimetres of
rain, 30 millimetres more than normal.
Meanwhile, Dryden saw 54.5 millimetres of rain, which
was 30 mm less than the normal for the period. It was the
driest August since 2005.
