A 32-year-old British Columbia man faces a long list of charges after
he failed to stop for police.
Officers were called Monday morning after someone drove away from a
Dryden business without paying for gas.
An investigation determined the vehicle was reported stolen in Sault
Ste. Marie and OPP stopped the car on Highway 17 near Vermilion Bay.
The driver drove away and police followed the car to Stewart Lake, when it stopped and the driver fled into the bush.
After a full-scale and lengthy search, the suspect was caught on the
CP tracks, about 20-kilometers from the vehicle.
Bob Holt faces 6-charges including dangerous driving.
Additional charges are pending.
