The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have successfuly defended their Bill Salonen Cup Championship.
Ted Davis scored on a 4-3 powerplay early in the third and the Ice Dogs defence didn’t waver in a 3-2 win at the Fort William Gardens Saturday night.
That was the third game winning goal for Davis, who was a late season pick-up.
He was named Playoff MVP.
Dryden GM trailed the North Stars 2-0 but scored two goals in the second period to tie.
Kris Hamlin started the comeback, while Matthew Pitchenese tied the game.
The Ice Dogs outshot Thunder Bay 49-37.
Dryden GM trailed the SIJHL Final 2-1 but stormed back to win three straight and secure the first back-to-back title run in franchise history.
