A $50,000 grant has helped the City of Dryden complete some renovations at the Memorial Arena.
The money was used to install automatic sliding doors, as well as upgrade the main lobby and washrooms.
Manager of Tourism and Community Initiatives Nicole Gale says the work was badly needed.
Gale says the investment brings together partners and communities, gives the City a positive point to talk about the area and celebrate sports in our community.
Gale says she supports everything being done by the Dryden Recreation Expansion and Modification Committee.
She notes these upgrades wouldn’t see the light of day if it weren’t for the drive, dedication and hard working of volunteers.
Gale is pledging to go after additional grants and funding opportunities to upgrade the Memorial Arena.
The City, DREAM and user groups celebrated the first phase of renovations Saturday morning.
