Back To School Safety Tips For Motorists

The Dryden Fire Service is sending out important safety tips as kids head back to school on Tuesday.

Acting Fire Chief Ryan Murrell urges everyone to slow down when driving to and from school.

Statistics show that half of teens will be in a car crash before graduation and it is the leading cause of death for 15 to 25-year-olds.

Murrell adds that you keep a greater following distance behind school buses compared to normal vehicles.

Murrell says the most common cause of a collision is a driver turning left in front of a bicycle, noting this is the time you want to be watching your mirrors.
