Two area First Nations are saying not so fast to the provincial government.
Fort Hope and Neskantaga First Nations say the road into the Ring of Fire isn’t a done deal without a jurisdiction agreement.
They call the Premier’s announcement about the road premature since it would cross into the rivers and lands of their nations.
The Chief of Fort Hope says she is disappointed to see an announcement by Kathleen Wynne about building roads when there is no community approval.
She calls their approach “divisive”.
