Sawmill workers in Ignace are heading back to the job after nearly 4 years!
Bowater closed the facility in 2000 for a $25 million renovation & then the IWA went on strike in August 2002.
Sunday morning, the 50 union members voted 92% in favour of accepting a
tentative contract agreement reached last week.
Among the changes to the contract, a new pension plan, & raises ranging from 3.25-$6/hour over the next 4 years.
Production is expected to resume in about 6 weeks.
Back to work soon in Ignace!
