Bad year for farmers

Farmers in the Rainy River Valley are having tough summer with saturated fields and little heat and wind to dry things up.

Cattle farmer Kim Jo Bliss says this is the worst year she has seen since she began working at the Emo agricultural research station in 1987.

Bliss notes conditions have been so wet that some farmers have had their equipment getting stuck in fields.

But she adds this region is still better off than neighboring Manitoba.
