One Rainy River Valley cattle farmer says this is the worst year for agriculture she has seen since 1987.
Kim Jo Bliss says fields have been saturated with water this summer.
Bliss, who also works at the Emo agricultural research station, notes more heat and wind are needed to salvage what is left of the season.

Bliss notes many fields across the district have not even be touched this year and likely won’t be because of wet conditions.
The resulting increase in insects has also meant cattle are not staying in pastures very long.
