Balanced Attack In Ice Dogs Win

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs scored three times on the powerplay and added a shorthanded goal in a 7-3 win over the English River Miners Saturday night.

Tristan Knott, Derek McPhail, Braeden Allkins and Cory Dennis scored for Dryden GM.

Dryden’s Trey Palermo scored his first SIJHL goal.

Eric Stout and Jacen Bracko extended their goal streak to four games.

The Ice Dogs were up 5-1 but the Miners battled back to make it 5-3.

Goalie Ben Dennis foiled the comeback with several key saves.

He stopped a total of 52-shots.

Trevor Pereveroff and Ryder Prue scored for English River.

Kenora’s Cameron Novak added his first SIJHL goal.

Michael Lenko was solid as he faced 46-shots.

Dryden GM improves to 3-1, while the Miners dropped to 1-2.

In other SIJHL action, Thunder Bay remained perfect with a 6-5 win over winless Fort Frances.
