The Lake of the Woods District Hospital is not out of
the woods when it comes to its 500-thousand dollar deficit.
The Provincial Government’s announcement of an increase
in base funding, and 602-thousand dollars for wait time
initiatives is information the hospital has already
factored into its 2008-2009 budget.
C.E.O. Marc Balcaen says they’re dissapointed they
didn’t receive any new funding.
Q:”…any.” 22 seconds
Balcaen says the funding for small hospitals will help
Dryden, but doesn’t do anything for Kenora or the regional
hospital in Thunder Bay.
The Lake of the Woods Hospital is facing a 900-thousand
dollar deficit in 2009-2010.
